We care...

At CAT'S LOVE, our love for cats naturally takes centre stage, but environmental protection is also a matter that's close to our hearts.

We attach great importance to making the entire manufacturing process as environmentally friendly as possible. This applies not only to the contents, but also to the packaging as an integral component of the whole. It is important to us that the packaging material also complies with our principles of sustainability.

Recycling plays a crucial role here, as when implemented correctly, it reduces waste, lowers CO2 emissions and therefore helps to slow down climate change. At CAT'S LOVE, we prioritise the use of high-quality recyclable packaging materials that protect the valuable contents and are environmentally friendly at the same time.

Please follow our guide to optimally recycle your empty CAT'S LOVE packaging and thus protect our environment!

ALWAYS REUSABLE
OUR TINS

For our CAT'S LOVE tins, we use tinplate – one of the most recyclable materials available. The entire tin consists of 95.31% tinplate, and this portion can be recycled an infinite number of times. So disposing of them in the separate tin and can waste containers – depending on the region – is definitely worthwhile! What's more, our cans contain 60% recycled material, allowing them to be used again.

100 % PURE PAPER
TIN LABELS

The labels on our tins are made of 100% pure paper. Paper, as we know, is an infinitely valuable material, and you can recycle 100% of the labels. Remove the labels from the can before disposing of it and throw it away with paper waste. This is your contribution to sustainable recycling! By recycling, we avoid having to produce virgin fibres for new paper. Let's conserve resources together and reduce CO2 emissions in the long term.

ALREADY 80 % RECYCLED
THE CARDBOARD TRAYS

If your feline friend just can't get enough of our food, then you may have already bought a whole tray. In the packaging industry, an entire tray is referred to as a crate, which is loaded with products and wrapped in film. Our trays are made from an FSC mix (GDII paper, corrugated cardboard and testliner). This means that they already consist of up to 80% recycled material. In addition, at least 70% of the trays can be recycled, and in many cases 100% can be.

50 % REZYKLAT
PROTECTIVE STRETCH FILM

Stretch film is used to ensure that our tins are well secured in their trays. This also enables us to reduce damage to the cans during transport. The stretch film we use (LDPE/ Green PE) is 100% recyclable. It is also made from up to 50% recycled material, i.e. plastic that has already been recycled. This helps us and the environment to save raw materials, reduce CO₂ emissions and avoid waste. In order reduce our plastic consumption even further, some CAT'S LOVE products are packed in complete trays so that no stretch film needs to be used.

MADE FROM RENEWABLE RAW MATERIALS
DRY FEED BAG

We currently use a film composite (PET/PE) in combination with paper for the best possible packaging for our high-quality premium dry food. This packaging is also used for all types of food and ensures that the valuable contents have a long shelf life and are protected from external influences. The outer layer is extremely robust, while the inner coating ensures maximum freshness of the food. Unfortunately, this type of packaging is not yet recyclable, but we are constantly working on improving it.  For the sake of the environment, people and animals!

WITH LIFE-PROOF PROTECTIVE LAYER
THE POUCHES

Our wet food is also available in practical pouches. They are made of an aluminium composite material (PET/alum/PP). The outer coating is made of a plastic mix. The inner layer of the packaging material is made of aluminium. This ensures that the plastic does not come into contact with the contents and that no plasticisers can get into the food. In addition, the product is protected with a food-safe protective coating between the product and the plastic, which is also standard in the food industry. The pouches enable the safe and practical packaging of small quantities of wet food and are ideal for snacks or food on-the-go. Unfortunately, the pouches are currently not yet recyclable and must be disposed of with general waste.

FOR BEST QUALITY
DELICIOUS BAG

Our high-quality treats are packed in stand-up pouches made of PET/PE composite material (plastic composite). The material is particularly lightweight, which means that CO2 can be saved during transport thanks to the low packaging weight.

This carefully selected type of packaging ensures that our freeze-dried premium snacks reach your four-legged friend at top quality. It optimally protects the flavours of our high-quality treats and ensures a long shelf life, so we don't have to rely on artificial preservatives. The zip lock closure makes it easy to remove the contents and reseal them securely. This keeps the treats fresh for a long time and preserves their quality. The clear window allows you to see what's inside at a glance, so you know what size our treats are and whether they are suitable for your cat before you even open them.

Unfortunately, this packaging is not yet recyclable. We are working closely with the packaging producers to make the switch as soon as possible to an environmentally-friendly alternative that still provides optimum protection for the valuable contents of our products.
